The eleventh work in a series re-imagining the origin of the traditional Japanese gate to a sacred space or Shinto shrine, TORII (鳥居).
In autumn in Kyoto, KOYO (紅葉) fall colors bear TORII (鳥居).
Painted with acrylics on canvas. Using razor blades and brushes, a foundation of colors are layered to a rich texture, and overlaid with intricate lines and geometric patterns resembling circuitry.
