Artwork description
This screen print looks out across the Rangitoto Channel from North Head, capturing one of Auckland’s most iconic coastal views. In the foreground, flowering harakeke (New Zealand native flax) frames the deep blue stretch of water that leads the eye out to volcanic Rangitoto Island and beyond, across the Hauraki Gulf.
Printed in 11 hand-pulled layers using acrylic inks, this work brings together bold natural forms and soft colour shifts to reflect the rhythm of sea, land, and sky. The edition includes both traditional tones and a brighter colourway—each version bringing its own energy to this familiar and much-loved vista.
Created in 2021, the year of the America’s Cup, the print also marks a moment in time, as this stretch of water once again became the focus of international attention.
Printed on A1-sized 300gsm Canaletto Bianco paper, each piece is signed and numbered on the front.
Edition of 74
