BETWEEN GAME AND ENIGMA (2025)Oil painting

£2,093.28

Painting in which surreal elements are blended to explore the duality between fate and chance in the complexity of the human soul, behind the facades we present to the world. Each of us plays our role unconsciously: like the cards in a deck, the game of chess, between strategies of dissimulation and discovery, expressing tension between visibility and concealment behind a mask, symbols of the hidden and visible sides of our essence. The roll of the dice alludes to the inherent beauty of chance, like roulette, a fascination of casinos. The ball dances on the wheel, a metaphor for how chance is an integral part of our lives: even if we try to predict the future, there are always unpredictable (and exciting) factors that influence the outcomes. The world is a complex and fascinating place, where even chaotic forces can be harnessed to create fun and excitement. The Florence Cathedral adds an emblem of the constant quest for beauty and spirituality.
