Beneath Penselwood, Somerset
I venture along the trail,
Seeking a colourful scene,
I find it and begin to sketch out the composition,
A wonderful feeling as I start to paint,
Sheltered and warm.
Words and expression of my experience recently.
Original impressionist watercolour on cold pressed Fabriano 300gsm 140lb.
Signed on the front and back of artwork,
I created this watercolour plein air in early October 2025. I used watercolour crayons and drew out the design. I then wet over with a wet brush also adding light washes of high pigmented Japanese watercolour paint with my Japanese mop squirrel hair brush.
