While the title suggests the apple is about to be staged amongst other fruit for a still life painting, the focus on the apple encourages a biblical reference. Is gloved hand the hand that tempts Eve with the apple? Is this the hand of God? The tag on the apple reads "Nephilim's Weaver", which is a reference to Genesis. Nephilim are the offspring of fallen angels and man and they are often depicted as giants. "Nephilim's Weaver" suggests that perhaps Nephilim play some part in weaving the story of man. Is the gloved hand Nephilim?
