Before the Rain Begins (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Olesya Bay
50.8 x 50.8 x 2.54cm (unframed)
£708.58
Original artwork description
That day, the city was divided in two.
One side was silent and cold, like old thoughts echoing between blue stones.
The other was covered in yellow - warm, crowded, and loud.
Right in the middle stood a red umbrella.
It wasn’t open, because the rain hadn’t started yet.
But some people can feel the storm before the first drop falls.
A small blue bird was looking at the umbrella.
As if it knew it was not just an object, but a boundary.
Like the thin line between the past and the future…
Maybe someone had forgotten that umbrella.
Or maybe they had left it there on purpose:
“One day, someone who needs it will take it.”
The red in the painting was not just a color.
It was waiting.
It was the desire for protection.
It was the attempt to hide the fragility inside a person.
And the bird was still there.
Because some stories do not begin with the rain, but in the moment just before it starts.
