People are sitting together, talking, eating, waiting — but nothing dramatic is happening. And yet, something is there. A quiet pause between conversations. A feeling of being present, but slightly elsewhere at the same time.
The light from the window divides the space. Outside feels distant, almost cold. Inside, everything is warmer, slower, more intimate — but not necessarily closer.
I was interested in that in-between state. Not loneliness, not connection, but something that moves quietly between the two.
