Bathers At Asnières by Seurat is a very friendly and beautiful picture. Nothing is glamorized, nature is not idealized. The figures are ordinary men taking some leisure time by the river.
But there is a tension between the industrial background and these motionless men sitting on the riverbank. It is life, unidealised, unromanticised and my figure is taking it all in.
As of now Bathers At Asnières isn't framed, but I'd be happy to frame it for you in a black wooden floating frame at no additional costs.
