Original artwork description
Balanced Axis is an abstract painting about inner alignment and visual balance.
I created this work by building a structured composition from intersecting vertical and horizontal forms. The painting is anchored by a strong central axis, around which textured layers of acrylic paint unfold. Soft grey, warm beige, off-white, charcoal, and muted ochre tones interact with deep graphite and black accents, creating contrast without overpowering the space.
I worked with a palette knife and brushes, applying and partially removing paint to reveal underlying layers. This process allowed the surface to remain dynamic and tactile, with subtle transitions, scraped textures, and expressive marks that change depending on light and viewing distance.
This artwork is designed for modern interiors where calm, structured abstraction enhances the atmosphere rather than dominates it. The square format makes it especially versatile — ideal above a sofa, console, or as a standalone statement piece in a minimalist space.
