Artwork description
This two-plate reduction linocut ,shows a group of birch trees set against autumnal foliage. The pale tree trunks are defined with simple black markings that reflect the natural texture of birch bark, while the background is made up of layered oranges, yellows, and greens, suggesting leaves in autumn.
The composition focuses on vertical forms and repeating patterns, with the trees standing clearly against the coloured background.
As a handmade linocut print, it is produced entirely by hand, and no machines are used in this traditional printmaking process, meaning each print carries small variations that are part of the technique.
The printed image measures 30.5 cm × 20 cm, with a total paper size of 36.7 cm × 26.5 cm. It is printed on thick, high-quality Italian Fabriano Rosaspina paper using Caligo oil-based inks.
