Autumn Reflections of the Red Moon

Autumn is a season of transformation — a moment when nature quietly changes its colours, releases what has passed, and prepares for a new cycle.

Autumn Reflections of the Red Moon is an original contemporary oil painting inspired by the mysterious atmosphere of an autumn landscape illuminated by the deep glow of a red moon. Fragments of trees, foliage, light and reflections seem to appear and disappear within the composition, creating the feeling of looking through a memory rather than at a literal landscape.

For me, autumn carries a special sense of the fragility of existence. Everything around us is constantly changing: leaves fall, light fades, seasons transform. Yet within this impermanence there is extraordinary beauty. The red moon becomes a symbol of transition — a quiet threshold between what is ending and what is about to begin.
This idea connects with my broader artistic concept of the New Moon: the beginning of a new cycle, the emergence of a new world from darkness and silence. My paintings explore the subtle vibration between nature, light and human emotion, where beauty becomes a quiet transformative force.

Created with professional oil paints on canvas, the work combines expressive brushwork, layered textures and semi-abstract forms. Deep forest greens, muted earth tones, warm ochres, autumn orange, soft ivory and touches of red create a rich contemporary palette. The fragmented composition allows recognizable elements of the natural world to dissolve into colour, texture and light.
The result is an atmospheric contemporary autumn landscape that can be experienced differently each time you look at it. New details, reflections and relationships between colour and texture gradually emerge, inviting prolonged observation.

With its sophisticated natural palette and expressive surface, Autumn Reflections of the Red Moon can become a statement piece in a contemporary, modern, minimalist, Scandinavian or Japandi interior. The 80 × 100 cm format makes it particularly suitable as a focal artwork for a living room, bedroom, dining space, studio, office or boutique hotel.
