As an artist I try to keep learning, challenging myself, reflecting on arts history and always looking forward.The canvas is my playground in vision, as the journal my playground in word. I create pieces that interpret and transform rather than imitate.My work aims to evoke a visceral response to a subject, whether that subject is an abstraction, a figure, or the practice of painting itself.I often use photographs taken by myself as a foundation for my paintings.
