Original artwork description
The original watercolor “Autumn Guardian” is an emotional portrait of a young barn owl (Tyto alba), executed in a modern loose watercolor technique. I uses the wet-on-wet technique and granulation of pigments to convey the incredible texture of the plumage: from warm ocher and umber tones to cool turquoise shadows and flashes of pure cadmium.
The bird's gaze - piercing, almost hypnotic - creates a feeling of living presence and quiet wisdom. The size of the work is 21 × 32 cm on professional watercolor paper 300 g/m² (cold pressed), signed by the author in the lower right corner.
This painting is an ideal accent for interiors in contemporary, scandinavian rustic, boho-chic and modern farmhouse styles. Autumn accents in the form of falling leaves and a thin branch add a seasonal mood and make the work especially relevant for the autumn-winter 2025/2026 collections.
