Artwork description:

I enjoy woodland walks any time of year, but there is something special about an autumnal woodland walk. The myriad colours that nature displays as the leaves turn is hugely inspiring for me. Colour has always been very important to my work, and I am always looking to nature to find interesting combinations.
I chose nine different printed colours to represent the palette in this beech tree scene. This work is a reduction linocut and is one of a small edition of eight prints. It is a very large piece, the printed area is 60cm x 40cm, a real statement for your wall.

A reduction lino print is formed with several layers of colour which are cut and printed from the same block of lino. I print all of my work by hand, in very limited editions. Small variations do occur between them but this just serves to make each individual print truly original.

This work is printed with water-based, light-fast inks on Somerset Satin paper and has a beautiful matt finish. It is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom.

As this artwork is large, it will be shipped wrapped in cellophane, then rolled and surrounded with bubble wrap and placed into a strong cardboard postal tube. The artwork is best unrolled and stored flat in it's cellophane once it is received. The paper is very thick so any curve from the rolling will fall out in time. If a slight curve does remain, this can easily be flattened once the work is framed.
