Autumn at Stourhead, Wiltshire
A special walk,
In the morning colours,
Beautiful blue sky,
Magnificent trees reflecting into the calm lake,
Enchanting and relaxing.
Words and feelings.
Stourhead lake and gardens is such an amazing place to visit and spend time in. I recently met a close friend there to walk round and take in the Autumn tree colours.I was so inspired and so many gorgeous scenes to paint.
Original impressionist watercolour on cold pressed watercolour paper Fabriano 300gsm 140lb.
I used a reflective light technique using wet on wet washes.. I built up the colours by dabbing and pressing the paint on.
The reflections were achieved while the paper was wet and used a base line for the lakeside to divide the trees above and reflecting below.

Cold pressed watercolour paper Fabriano 300gsm 140lb, Windsor and Newton watercolours, Chinese hake, Chinese brush, sable hair brush, filbert brush,
