Original artwork description

Asphalt at the Warsaw Ursus Północny station — in the rain, once again. I stood there waiting for the train, watching the same view I saw every day. Yet that day, it looked different. The surface of the platform, uneven and worn, layered over the years, shimmered under the lights.

In another painting, “Station Warsaw Ursus Północny, Its Asphalt”, I showed it in full, warm sunlight — interpreting it through the dialogue between sun and rain. Here, the same space feels different: subtle glimmers on dark puddles and rails, the yellow glow from the streetlights.

I was struck by how beautiful it looked — how something so ordinary, unnoticed by everyone else, could feel so meaningful to me.
There’s a strong sense of surface here, with darkness and brightness balancing each other.

Exhibited in: “Endurlings. The End of the City”, Warsaw, 2025 — the artist’s MFA graduation exhibition.

The painting is ready to hang and will be delivered in secure, multi-layered packaging, insured and tracked to ensure its safety during transport. Each work comes with a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity, confirming its originality.
