”Ascension” is an abstract work with a strong vertical tension, built around the idea of inner movement and the overcoming of material limits. The composition is dominated by contrasting chromatic registers—intense reds, deep greys, accents of pale green and muted whites—articulated in layered, gestural surfaces that resemble strata of continuous becoming.
The broad vertical forms suggest a slow yet constant rise, a spiritual or existential journey in which matter is traversed by energy and memory. The red, applied with force and visible texture, evokes vitality, sacrifice, or inner burning, while the cooler areas—greys and bluish tones—provide a counterpoint of reflection and balance. The central green functions as a nucleus of regeneration, a space of breathing and hope within the composition.
Traces of gesture, scratches, and transparencies reveal a dialogue between control and spontaneity, between construction and chance. The work does not propose a triumphant ascent, but rather a tense one, marked by effort, transformation, and the accumulation of meaning.
”Ascension” thus becomes a visual metaphor for human becoming—an inner path, fragmented and stratified, in which each level bears the imprint of time, experience, and the search for meaning.
