Ares and Hermes from the Pantheon series (2026) Original Oil Painting by Anja Rudko
74 x 54 x 5cm (framed) / 60 x 40cm (actual image size)
£1,383.54
Original artwork description
A contemporary painting from the “ Pantheon” series, where canine figures become carriers of character and emotion rather than portrait subjects.
Two borzois move through the same space, each embodying a different rhythm of being. One is direct and forward-moving, the other lighter, intuitive, almost playful. There is no conflict between them — only an unspoken understanding and a shared direction.
The vivid magenta background transforms the scene into something almost symbolic, balancing between pop-art energy and classical portrait sensibility. Expressive brushwork and layered oil texture keep the image alive and human, despite its stylised appearance.
This work explores the idea that strength does not require similarity — it can exist in difference, when there is quiet recognition between two forces moving together.
