Original artwork description
The painting shows a striking and abstract depiction of a Norwegian landscape. The upper part is dominated by light blue tones, reminiscent of a clear sky over the majestic fjords. Below is a layer of white, grey and a touch of orange, symbolising the region's snow-capped mountains and rocky hills. The lower part of the painting is in strong blue, clearly indicating the deep waters of the fjords.
This composition is reminiscent of the iconic landscapes along the Hurtigruten, the traditional Norwegian mail ship routes known for their stunning views of the fjords. The interplay of colours and shapes creates a feeling of calm and grandeur that is typical of Norwegian nature. I painted this artwork in 2022 after a exciting journey trough Norway. This artwork captures the majestic yet rugged beauty of the North.
