Original oil on canvas seascape, realistic sea oil painting
Seaside painting,
Anticipation of a storm, 2025
Dimensions:
16x20 inch (41x51 cm approx)
I painted this seascape to capture the restless energy of an approaching storm. Using oil paints, I blended elements of fine art, impressionism, and realism to convey both the ferocity and tranquillity of the sea. The dark, brooding clouds and the swells of turbulent water contrast with the delicate hint of a distant sailboat, symbolizing resilience amidst chaos. This piece embodies the raw beauty and powerful emotions stirred by nature's force, inviting viewers to reflect on their own encounters with nature's dualities.
Unframed. Frames at the pictures are shown as an example only and can be made to order. Available now frames:
- white grain wood £70;
- black wood £70;
- a beautiful modern floater tray frame in oak veneer £70.
Please message me if you would like your painting to be framed and I adjust the price accordingly (£495).
To create this painting I used various range of techniques- from an old traditional glazing/sfumato (gained its popularity in 16th-17th century) and blending to impressionistic impasto.
This painting would look great in any home décor style. It is ready to hang, can be framed or hung without a frame - this painting is extended over the edges of the gallery wrapped canvas, is wired, signed and dated by me.

professional grade oil paints, brushes, palette knife, gallery wrapped canvas, varnish
