Original artwork description
Anticipation... is a 24x18x1.5 inches oil on canvas of a rainbow coloured abstract autumn forest path. It is another in a series of paintings of glowing autumn paths based on place near Sharpthorne and the Bluebell Railway in Sussex. I love the idea of paintings being portals to other places and this one looks quite magical to me. I called it 'anticipation' as that is what a good country walk delivers. You become fascinated by what is over the next hill or through the next forest. It never ceases to thrill me and I have tried to capture my enthusiasm in this little painting. It is dedicated to anyone else who would like to escape into it occasionally. It is on deep edge canvas, edges white, ready to hang, no frame needed.
