Painted on an original page from a 1913 edition of The Concise English Dictionary, this mixed-media collage captures a moment of sorrow frozen in time. A woman, ghostlike and solemn, cradles the severed head of a man caught in a silent scream. His terror lingers; her despair is quiet, deep, and unreadable.

A circle of gold leaf looms behind them-part halo, part curse-set against the faded texture of old ink and forgotten words. Acrylics, ink, and fragments of gold bring shadow and contrast to the fragile paper, now a canvas for grief.

This piece speaks of endings. Of memory. Of love twisted by violence. And of the strange poetry found in loss.
