and again, grey is an atmospheric oil painting exploring the quiet, mineral light of the North Pennines. Soft transitions of grey, muted blue and weathered earth tones create a sense of shifting air and distance, with the surface built through layered brushwork and subtle tonal breaks.

The painting sits between abstraction and landscape: recognisable in its feeling of terrain and weather, yet open enough to invite the viewer’s own reading. Areas of dragged paint, softened edges and broken marks give the work a lived‑in, geological presence, while the restrained palette holds everything in a calm, reflective mood.
