I painted Anaïs in a beautiully peaceful place with muted greens and deep browns, and small touches of rust ochre to warm her skin. Light runs down her spine and over her hips - soft but strong. The brushwork is loose and instinctive because I wanted it to feel alive, unposed, and at ease. An original figurative oil painting of the female nude in a contemporary green-brown palette.
