Original artwork description:

We chose this cafe as the place to end each day in Amsterdam, sat in the candlelight, in a terrace that bordered the darkened park. Escaped parrots and unseen creatures inhabit this secret world, the air heavily scented with coffee and smoke. In the day I returned to paint the cafe. It is rich in light, the sun resting languidly on the quarter, the temperature edging 34 degrees. The work is on a 0.4 inch canvas and can therefore hang without the need for framing.
