This painting is painted in an expressive impressionist style. A sailing yacht rapidly cuts through the stormy waters among the coastal reefs. The powerful tilt of the mast and sails creates a sense of speed, a fight with the wind and the elements.
The color scheme is maintained in cool shades of blue and gray. The dark sails contrast with the foamy waves, and the warm reflections of light on the water and sails add liveliness and depth.
