Along the Field’s Edge (2024)Linocut

This design is based on a simple sketch I made just around the corner from my house. I live in a little village in Suffolk which is surrounded by fields. Suffolk is generally quite a flat county, but there is a very gentle hill on the walk from my house…

I liked the dramatic composition of my sketch and in developing the design for the linoprint I wanted to match the drama in my colour choices and dynamic cutting patterns.

Edition of 15

All of my prints are original linocuts and are handmade by me. Because they are handmade, prints inevitably have minuscule differences...part of the charm of being made by a person and not a machine!

I use Lawrence oil-based relief printing inks and Hereford relief printing paper 145gsm. I use a BlueBoy printing press. There is more information about my studio and other work on my website.
