Original impressionist watercolour on textured watercolour paper Fabriano acid free, 300gsm 140lb.
My inspiration was recently seeing this scene in May I created this painting in the studio.
I used a graduated wash for the almond pink background and then a spiral technique for the trees with a Chinese hake, Chinese brush.
I used a repetition of brush strokes adding different shades into the trees using a three colour technique. I placed the flowers over a damp background with my sable hair brush and with a fan brush I dragged the paint to weave in different shades. I etched out the paint with my nail.

Extra rough textured watercolour paper Fabriano 300gsm 140lb, sable hair brush, filbert brush, Chinese hake, Windsor and Newton watercolours,
