I painted this Provençal alley not for the sake of precise details, but to capture the feeling of a place where time moves more slowly. The narrow streets, old facades, and red branches of the trees carry their own unique music of color and light. I wanted to convey the warmth of the South, even through the cool tones of stone and sky. In Provence, streets tell stories — they preserve footsteps, the scent of flowers, and the sounds drifting from open windows. That is why I deliberately left the forms slightly fluid, like a memory that can never be held completely. Every brushstroke here is an impression from a walk, a fleeting glance, the mood of a single day. The light dissolves into the houses and cobblestones, uniting the space into one rhythm. For me, this alley became not just a view of Provence, but a state of mind. That is why the painting is called “Alley of Memories.”
