This painting is very special to me. My step son is 16 and is transgender. It's not been easy for him but I am very amazed by his courage and intelligence. Exceptional in his academics, he is also a very good artist, even though his art teacher didn't think so ( I knew he'd pass his GCSE Art though!). I have been away on a trip to Venice recently and needed to paint something on my return. I wasn't in my studio so my step son let me have this canvas he had began a few years ago. On the canvas was a rainbow, he hadn't finished it but the colours were my inspiration starting point. I have left a few parts of the rainbow that he painted on the canvas that peep through with pride.
It's a story of 2 artists, 2 people, one final creation. Therefore this painting is called 'All the colours of the rainbow'
