Alienated Figure | Post-Alienation Series (2023) Original Acrylic Painting by Gela MIKAVA

A haunting solitary figure emerges from a saturated green atmosphere, suspended between disappearance and presence. In Post-Alienation: Silent Figure I, Gela Mikava transforms the human body into an emotional residue — faceless, fragile, and psychologically charged.

The dripping layers of acrylic and oil create a sense of erosion, as if identity itself is dissolving into memory. The intense green field contrasts with violent red undertones, suggesting emotional suppression, trauma, and silent resistance.

Part figurative apparition, part abstract psychological landscape, the painting speaks to post-socialist alienation, contemporary isolation, and the instability of self in modern society.

This work belongs to Mikava’s ongoing Post-Alienation series, where the figure becomes a symbolic vessel of collective memory and emotional displacement.
