This bottle, object of the painting, was recently found in a flea market in Paris and dates from 1906. It represents an alchemist manufacturing the elixir of life.
It was manufactured by Royal Doulton, a British pottery and ceramics company.
The Kingsware collection to which this whisky bottle belongs was developed by Charles Noke and produced between 1898 and 1939. No other factory in the world has been able to recreate the same glossy finish.
It should be noted that Doulton also manufactured the sinks of the Titanic (1912).
