Albedo Effect (2026) Original Collage by Paper Draper

From my series of 'Weather Patterns' A mirrored disco ball shape has been created on paper using fragments of vintage magazine pages, the disco ball reflects an imagined view of its surroundings and has been positioned on a floating ice berg. Small colourful light orbs have also been carefully cut and positioned to complete the effect.
The stunning background photo are 2 pages from a vintage magazine seamlessly flat mounted onto acid free support paper. The scene is taken in the Antarctic and had me exploring the albedo effect, about how effectively different surfaces (ie snow or ocean) can reflect the sunlight back out into space, essential for climate control.

The collage has been backed for stability and flat mounted onto off-white A3 paper with a border. This piece looks great in a minimal A3 box frame as shown in my example.
