Another of the series on African animal heads created on a steel plate to give that rugged quality. This is the Cape Buffalo that travel in herds and are one of the most dangerous bush animals. When seen grazing in the Mara they look not unlike cattle, but are quite another kettle of fish if confronted. The older they get the more beautiful I think they become, as their horns become more weathered and their heads get bigger. This image of a Buffalo head is getting to that stage, but still has and heir of youth to its face.
Steel plate with wax resin. Oil based printmakers ink. Cotton Rag paper.
