Admiring the autumn tree colours
One Saturday afternoon in November,
A walk into Blandford Forum,
Burnt sienna, cadmium yellow, vermillion and Prussian blue,
The river stour hidden by the trees and the short grassy field,
Uplifting and relaxing place to be.
Words and thoughts of my recent visit and I come to this special nature reserve called Blandford meadows in North Dorset throughout the year and was pleased the sun was out to make the autumn tree colours shine..
Original impressionist watercolour on extra rough textured watercolour paper acid free bockingford 425 gsm 200 lb.
I applied wet on wet washes for the background colours and the sky using a Chinese goats hair brush. Then I used a filbert and a Chinese brush to press and dab to form the trees over the top of the background while the paper was moist.
