Perhaps the most tender images of children are found when artists use their own children -
The convenience of being able to observe them at home rather than in a formal studio environment allows freedom of the brush.
This painting came to my mind as an image as I watched intently as my younger child picked and ate sweet cherries from a nearby tree in the neighborhood.
He was so focused and careful in his activity that nothing else mattered. The sweet and ripe fruit took all his attention.
A moving, and more intimate image of childhood innocence.
