Warm Breeze on a Golden Night (2016) Original Watercolour by Phyllis Mahon

Feeling sensuous in the golden light and heat, a woman luxuriates. She is standing knee-deep in the golden water, lifting her long, rich copper-toned hair while enjoying the cool breezes flowing over her body.

White, black, russet brown and a lots of gold gouache on teal coloured Khadi handmade paper. The colour of the paper shows through between the gold in the water and to the right of her flowing breezy robe.

Some of the photographs are taken by electric lamplight to try to show how beautifully the gold shines. The 'cooler' photographs are in daylight.
