An evocative landscape painting of the palm house at Kew Gardens on a sunny day with the suggestion of people in the distance.
Loosely painted with broad brushstrokes and subtle colours.
The colour is often one of the aspects of a landscape that interests me and capturing the colours and the mood without being slavishly bound to realism.
I also enjoyed painting the very distinctive structural shape of the hot house.
As is the case for most of my works, the painting has many layers and history to it, creating interesting texture and small areas of relief where paint and sometimes collage below shows.
