A lie (2025)Acrylic painting
by Alfonso Sánchez

1 Artist Review

£3,464

Original artwork description

A painting created through free improvisation to the music of Pearl Jam.

A story of the past and present. The unknown, what slips through our fingers... Nature, antiquity, the earthly and the spiritual.

We think we are gods, but we are merely monkeys who have risen above the ordinary.

Gestural, intuitive painting that lets things happen and leans on what emerges. Embracing the unexpected and accepting the consequences.

A need to tell stories, to leave a mark, to understand the world, which is always both modern and ancient.

Materials used:

acrylic, gesso, pigments, charcoal, wax, graphite
