I painted this sketch on the Mediterranean coast when I was on vacation in Alanya in 2021. I sat down on the pier and saw the remains of a fortress by the sea, it was so beautifully combined with the white foamy waves and sea breeze that I was tempted to quickly sketch a pencil outline and start a watercolor sketch.

Seascape Painting - I often paint seascapes, beaches, sailboats, as in the summer I go to rest in resort places and paint right on the beach or on the pier. I draw paintings from nature, on plein air. Often, I paint my watercolor landscapes using the Alla Prima technique, in one step.

My painting watercolor on cotton paper, using mainly palette brush and watercolor paints.

Watercolors give this work a special lightness and airiness. I like paint with watercolors using the ala prima technique, using the effects of splatter, transparency and color saturation.
