Original artwork description
Painting worked from free improvisation. Action painting with music by Ben Harper.
Everything changed when humans dominated agriculture and livestock. The first Neolithic. We began to prosper more quickly, populations increased, we became sedentary.
We depended on the climate for our crops and religion became important.
We believed ourselves powerful, but we were (and still are) very fragile. Living beings, ephemeral, insignificant. Just monkeys who have come to terms with it.
Gestural, intuitive painting, which lets things happen and relies on what appears. Taking advantage of the accident and accepting the consequences.
The unknown, what slips through our fingers... Nature, antiquity, the earthly and the spiritual.
Need to tell things, to leave a mark, to understand the world, which is always modern and ancient.
Nothing matters much... Working with a lost gaze...
