Original artwork description
Based on an Ottoman document dating from 1866
Two women cross the silence of time,
walking side by side on the faded silk of memory.
The first, in a burnt orange shirt, is flame and impulse —
she moves as bold dreamers do.
The second, dressed in deep olive green, is calm and reflection —
she walks as one remembers, with tenderness.
Beneath their steps, the paper is no longer just a surface,
but a fragment of an era, tattooed with ink, seals, and nostalgia.
An Ottoman archive from 1866,
where ancient words still breathe between lines and arabesques.
Yet they trample nothing —
they merely brush it.
They converse with the past,
as if the present were asking permission to awaken it.
The black that dresses their legs draws their strength,
and lets the empty spaces speak with grace.
This is not a story to be told,
but a suspended moment,
that gives time its breath once more.
