Kingswood, West Somerset
The colours of early August,
Yellow and dusky pink sunset sky,
Deep wetland valley,
A meadow of wild Himalayan balsam by the stream,
A relaxing and peaceful place to be.
Words and feelings of my recent summer holiday.
Original impressionist watercolour on cold pressed Fabriano watercolour paper 300gsm 140lb.
Created at my home studio; I went back into my imagination and visual memory and started to apply sporadic wet on wet washes. I used my Chinese brushes for the trees and sky background and for the flower detail I pressed the paint on with different sizes of filbert brushes to create the patterns- detail. Keeping the momentum of painting loose and controlled.
Signed on the front and back of watercolour.
