  • Biography
“Why am I me, and not a tree, an animal, a stone..?” I continue this thought from childhood in my artistic practice, in search of empathy towards another organism, another biological species, another form of life...
As an artist, I was brought up on the images of the Ural nature, on the amazing balance of strength and fragility. In artistic practice I explore the relationship between living and inanimate nature and humans, the relationship between unconscious and conscious images. What is this connection? Is it a thread or a rope? Are the images ephemeral or physical? How equal are we all by nature of birth? How to find balance, harmony? I am interested in embodying images that come from the subconscious and observing how they “fit” into the overall concept of my work. Often here I find answers to many questions. In my paintings I try to create spaces where boundaries and differences between me and other forms of life are erased, where meanings are transformed. In my work I use classical mediums: canvas and oil and modern techniques, where I also look for a balance between almost watercolor drips and impasto strokes, between flesh and natural colors..
