About SVETLANA GADJIEVA

Biography

Svetlana Gadjieva was born in 1963 in Chelyabinsk, Russia. As a child, she took a great interest in fine art and music and was enrolled in a special school for artistic children. After graduating high school, she continued her education at the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Art, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Repin. Svetlana has mastered a variety of mixed media techniques but focuses her talent on the use of watercolours. She gives new life to the past as she works with subtle cool tones and moods as she recreates pieces of European cityscapes. She now works as a designer and artist in St. Petersburg. She uses mixed media techniques and watercolour and always produces high-quality work.

Her European cityscapes are dreamy and romantic, even with the somewhat sombre mood they evoke. Perhaps a time that is sadly missed. They are much like a distant memory, soft and muted with sharp details that remain ingrained in the mind!
