About Dasha Pogodina

Biography

My name is Dasha Pogodina and I am 30 y.o. Ukrainian artist based in Switzerland. I’ve been an experienced graduate designer and artist since 2012. After finishing my studies in 2012 I continued increasing my skills as a designer and an oil painter. From 2016 up to nowadays, I am successfully selling my art all over the World. I take care of all the process of selling - from the creation of the work to the moment when the happy buyer received the painting and posted it on his wall, sending me positive feedback. I like the Artfinder approach to modern art development and the quality of space for artists that I see and enjoy reviews I hear from my colleagues who have already exhibited their art on Artfinder. I believe my art can enrich the great collection of artists which Artfiner has gathered on the platform. I have been deprived of home because of Russian aggression twice - the first time in the 2014 while Donbas war and the second - unfathomable war of Russia against Ukraine in 2022. But all this time there is a place for oil painting in my life because the painting is a part of my identity and of course if you're an artist you can't be silence, you cannot pretend nothing is happening, you cant no fight because art is artists’ weapon. Working with oil paints connects my love for art with my love for gardening and ground. Since ancient times Ukrainians say that our chernozems can be compared to butter, so fertile our land is. That is why usually I choose a middle or big size canvas for my art piece and oil paints. My life experience has been creating the theme for my art exploration all my artistic life. I was forced to find new place to live and recreate my home twice, I was seeking not only a place to live but also saving the incredible important for me the feeling of home, I was searching the answers to the most important questions at the same time. Questions about family, soul mates, the feeling of home, belonging to a living place, and ethnicity - all these researches became themes of art. My aim is to create paintings those give a state of quiet happiness, bliss for no reason, and a feeling of deep connection to the earth and the body.
