About Patricia Clements

Biography

Patricia gained a scholarship to The West Sussex College of Arts and Crafts and went on to study painting and life painting at The Central School of Art.

She was influenced by Bruce Barnden, Art Master at school. then by Lesley Cole, Head of Painting at the The Central School of Art and lastly by the French Impressionists.

Working in oils and latterly pastels, producing still lifes, landscapes and nudes of scenes that range from Twickenham to St.Tropez, Patricia's resulting work reflects the vibrant colours and brilliant light of the South of France. Since visiting New York she was inspired by the majestic shapes of the buildings and colour and excitement the city. This is reflected in her cityscapes. On returning to London she looked around and was also inspired by the beautiful old buildings and the river banks of the Thames where she painted Battersea Power Station and other river scenes. She is currently painting a series of the Thames at Dusk.

Patricia was recently made a member of the Society of Women Artists and subsequently became an award winner.

She also won the Henri Roche award for her pastel "Still life with Dragon" at the Pastel Societies annual exhibition at the Mall galleries.

I have had several paintings accepted for the RA Summer exhibition which have  sold, among others, to corporate buyers.
