About Oxana Nizhnik
Biography
I'm a watercolour artist from Moscow, Russia, based in Heidelberg, Germany.
Actually I studied linguistics, but developed all my life as an artist autodidactically.
I'm inspirated by nature and colours und prefer light mixed media and watercolour works. I paint intuitively and improvisationally. Lately, I have fallen in love with landscapes and nature: colour transition of leaves, morning mist, water shine. I depict it by using the wet-on-wet technique when the colours flow and blend directly on the paper. I finish my works by adding watercolour pencils and working through details first on the wet surface then on the dry one.
I also create linocuts, urban art, acryl and oil paintings and illustrations for papeterie.
