About Lena Owens at OLena Art

Biography

I create from the spiritual heart. I listen more than I force. Art shows up when beauty, goodness, and truth decide to walk in at the same time. My job is mostly to stay out of the way. I receive more than I generate. Honestly, it feels like the universe does the heavy lifting and I just hold the brush.
Lena Owens is a Denver based artist whose work bridges textured mixed media, palette knife painting, digital art, and fine art photography. Through her legacy brand, OLena Art, she creates vibrant, dimensional landscapes, sculptural florals, and expressive mixed media pieces inspired by the quiet beauty of nature and the emotional depth found in color, light, and movement.

Influenced by European landscapes, Russian academic training, and traditional craft techniques, Lena blends acrylics, oils, impasto, and digital tools to build richly layered artworks with tactile energy and contemporary expression. Her signature subjects include Colorado aspens, birch forests, wildflowers, symbolic compositions, and botanicals shaped by her lifelong connection to nature. Her artworks are held in private collections worldwide and are available as originals, fine art prints, and licensed designs. She also welcomes commissions for collectors seeking custom textured florals, landscapes, or abstract works created in her signature style.

Beneath the technique, Lena’s creative process is rooted in something deeper. She creates from the spiritual heart. Information helps her plan, but truth arrives only when she stops forcing and starts listening. Inspiration is not something she generates. It is something she receives. Her paintings are the visible traces of that deep listening.

She believes that beauty, goodness, and truth are one thing, seen from different angles, and that art is their arrival into the physical world. The thick brushstrokes, the luminous skin tones in her portraits, the blue that often frames the head like an aura, and the sculptural textures in her mixed media work are not stylistic choices. They are what happens when she allows instead of forces, when she works from the inner center where conscience, desire, perception, and will meet.

Lena’s practice is guided by quiet intensity, gentle knowing, and the courage to let something larger breathe through her. She invites viewers into a world where nature becomes both muse and memory, where color becomes emotion, and where art becomes a moment of unveiling.
