About mark skirving

Born and raised in the Stockton-on-Tees, an industrial town in the North of England, painting has been a long-term passion of mine. I was originally inspired by my late Grandfather, a talented artist who focused his work on the landscapes of Northern England.

Visiting galleries across the UK inspired me to attend Cleveland College of Art and Design (now Northern School of Art). It was here I leant a wide range of new methods and techniques from experienced artists.

After leaving College I worked as a graphic designer for a local company before forming my own graphic design agency in 2006. Since then, I have worked on many thought-provoking campaigns which require a great deal of creativity in both the private and public sectors.

I have always kept my interest in painting, and recently built a dedicated studio at my home. This has allowed me to devote more time to my art projects. In terms of my style, I enjoy adding abstract elements to my landscapes, bringing the paintings to life in a unique style.

Now in a position to sell my work online, I recently signed up to Artfinder and look forward to seeing my work distributed around the world. I am also available for commission work, please get in touch for more information.
